Twist and Shout Band Bios
Twist & Shout pays tribute to the Beatles and their music. Though it uses touches like the "Shea Stadium" coats The Beatles wore on their summer U.S. tour in 1965 as well as authentic instruments, like Rickenbacker guitars, VOX amps and Ludwig drums, Twist and Shout focuses more on recreating the sound and spirit of the "Fab Four."
A performance by Twist & Shout is a rocking good time and includes Beatles music from the early days right on through to music from the "White Album" and "Let It Be." Interactive Beatles trivia contests, twist contests and interesting facts about the Beatles and their music all are part of a Twist & Shout show. The group travels all over the Midwest and has performed at everything from local clubs and festivals to baseball parks, Chicago's Navy Pier and Taste of Chicago.
The band especially loves to "rock" with a crowd that likes to dance, and performs a high energy dance set at many clubs, fests, private parties and fundraisers throughout the year. Along with more than 100 songs from the Beatles catalog, Twist & Shout also performs the many "covers" the Beatles made of great artists like Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, The Marvelettes, Carl Perkins and Little Richard.
Many private parties and themed fundraisers love Twist & Shout's 20-song acoustic set full of classic love songs and ballads, such as "And I Love Her, Norwegian Wood, Till There Was You, If I Fell, Baby It's You, Things We Said Today, Yesterday, I'll Be Back, This Boy, Michelle, Something, Nowhere Man" and "In My Life."
Former "Saturday Night Live" player Tim Kazurinsky says of Twist & Shout: "They rock. They roll. My family and I think Twist & Shout is great. Their accuracy in recreating the Beatles' sound is amazing." |
